WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) released the following statement supporting the confirmation of Pam Bondi to be the next United States Attorney General following her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee:

“Pam Bondi will be an outstanding Attorney General that will apply the law without bias. With a distinguished career as a prosecutor, she fought to take dangerous criminals off the streets and protect communities. As Florida’s Attorney General, Pam enjoyed bipartisan support as a tireless advocate for victims of the opioid crisis while also leading successful efforts to dismantle drug cartels, disrupt organized crime, and strengthen public safety across the state. She has proven she has the experience and vision necessary to serve as the nation’s top law enforcement officer. I look forward to voting for her confirmation in the Senate Judiciary Committee and on the Senate floor.”

Senator Tillis on Democrat’s Attacks on Pam Bondi:

“You should be happy that so many comments have been directed towards Kash Patel, whose confirmation I am supporting. In fact, I'm meeting with him today, because that means they’re out of stuff for you. So if it comes up again, you will once again know that you’ve got a great reputation and a great resume, and they’re just trying to find things to put your integrity into question. You have answered the question repeatedly that you will be loyal to the Constitution and you will live up to the oath to the Constitution and to protecting the American people. And I think, Mr. Patel when he comes here, will be able to get rid of the myth in the same way that you did as a lobbyist for Qatar. He’ll be able to get rid of that list of the enemies, be able to deal with the enemy’s list, and the marketing department for your opposition is going to have to come up with new material because that stuff is getting old.”

Senator Tillis on Voter ID and Election Integrity:

“I think you made a point that, or at least I inferred from a comment that you made a very important point, there are election improprieties in every election. The matter of the question is a matter of scale and whether or not you can prove it. We’ve seen it in North Carolina and seen it in other places. It’s one of the reasons why I support voter ID, because we want to make elections easy to vote and hard to cheat. But the fact of the matter is that people are cheating. So, if anybody on this dais suggests that there aren’t irregularities in every election, they need to spend more time at home studying the facts. I don’t think though that you’ve said that that Biden is an illegitimate president. In fact, I think you said just the opposite. He is the President of the United States, and President Trump will be the next President, right?”
