WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Thom Tillis released the following statement regarding the replacement of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, which was made possible by a $242 million grant from the from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) which Senator Tillis helped negotiate, write, and pass into law:

“The replacement of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge is a critical investment in Wilmington’s infrastructure and a shining example of how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is benefitting North Carolina. I’m grateful to city and county officials, including Mayor Saffo, the New Hanover County Commissioners, and other local officials, for their partnership in pushing for the bridge replacement. I was proud to support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and I’m grateful to the Members of Congress, especially my Republican colleagues, who worked together and cast partisan politics aside to pass this historic legislation. This investment is only possible because of bipartisan leadership at the federal, state, and local level focused on delivering results for North Carolina.”
