WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Senate recently passed a bipartisan resolution co-introduced by Senator Thom Tillis, co-chair of the Senate Taiwan Caucus, and his colleagues commending Taiwan for its commitment to democratic elections and institutions despite ongoing threats from the Chinese Communist Party. This resolution comes as Taiwan’s upcoming presidential and legislative elections are set to occur on Saturday, January 13.
“As co-chair of the Senate Taiwan Caucus, I’m committed to strengthening our strategic relationship with Taiwan as they stand up to Communist China’s aggression,” said Senator Tillis. “America must do everything we can to push back against Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party and offer our full support for a democratic and free Taiwan. I’m proud the Senate came together to pass this important resolution.”
