“Today, we mark the 20th anniversary of the tragic events on 9/11, when our country was cowardly attacked by terrorists. While the terrorists committed these horrific atrocities to try to shake America to its core, we responded with strength and resilience. We saw the American people at their best. We witnessed heroic first responders rush to the scene. We saw Americans rally to support the families forever changed by the loss of their loved ones, lifting them in their prayers and generosity. We saw many young Americans who felt called to serve their country, enlisting in the military to hold the perpetrators of 9/11 accountable.
“On this 20th anniversary of 9/11, let us never forget the nearly 3,000 Americans who lost their lives and continue to support their families. Let us also never forget the service and sacrifice of our brave first responders and servicemembers who answered the call to serve the greatest nation on earth. May God continue to bless the United States of America.”
