WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) applauded the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) disaster declaration for counties affected by Hurricane Isaias. Senator Tillis worked with SBA officials to approve the declaration.

The declaration was approved for Bertie County and the adjoining counties of Chowan, Halifax, Hertford, Martin, Northampton, and Washington to address damages associated with Hurricane Isaias.

“While North Carolina was fortunate Hurricane Isaias did not cause more destruction, many communities in Eastern North Carolina still experienced significant wind, rain, and tornado damage,” said Senator Tillis. “Thank you to the SBA for announcing this disaster declaration to help North Carolinians who were affected get back on their feet.”
