Tillis: “The results of the Inspector General report are deeply disturbing, revealing numerous missteps and interference during the FBI’s investigation into President Trump and raising serious questions about the competency, integrity, and impartiality of some elements of the Department of Justice.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement on the Department of Justice Inspector General’s report on FISA abuse investigation:

“The initial results of the Inspector General report are deeply disturbing, revealing numerous missteps and interference during the FBI’s investigation into President Trump and raising serious questions about the competency, integrity, and impartiality of some elements of the Department of Justice. The American people deserve answers to these alarming revelations. I look forward to the upcoming release of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation, and I’m committed to doing everything I can to make sure this kind of misconduct is never repeated in the future.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday to hear testimony from Inspector General Michael Horowitz and examine his report on FISA abuses.
