Today, U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) spoke on the Senate Floor about the Senate’s recent success in repealing 14 burdensome regulations under the Congressional Review Act.

“What we were trying to do is eliminate the duplication and the cost associated with layering regulations on top of regulations,” said Senator Tillis. “If we look at the regulatory burden on businesses, on homeowners, on state and local governments; there's a smart right-size way to implement regulations, and there's a costly, complex wrong way to implement regulations. I'm proud that we were able to get 14 resolutions of disapproval completed. What we ended up doing through this action over the past couple of months is reduce regulatory burden by $67 billion and we've eliminated some 56 million paperwork hours. We're cutting red tape, and that's a good thing.”
