North Carolina Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr applauded the Senate Judiciary Committee for advancing the nomination of Matthew Martin as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina this week. Mr. Martin, who was nominated by President Trump at the recommendation of Senators Tillis and Burr, now moves before the full Senate for consideration.

Mr. Martin has an impressive legal career and extensive involvement in the community. He earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and is currently an Associate General Counsel for Duke Energy.

“Matthew Martin is a highly qualified nominee with extensive legal experience that will be beneficial to the Middle District of North Carolina,” said Senator Thom Tillis. “I applaud the Judiciary Committee for confirming Matthew and urge the Senate to quickly approve his nomination so he can begin serving the people of North Carolina.”

“Mr. Martin’s vast experience makes him well-suited to lead the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of North Carolina,” said Senator Richard Burr. “I’m pleased to see his nomination move forward in the Judiciary Committee, and I hope to see him quickly confirmed by the U.S. Senate.”
