WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) issued the following statement announcing he will vote in favor of the North Korea Sanctions and Policy Enhancement Act, which would expand and tighten enforcement of sanctions for North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile program and combat North Korean cyber criminal activities:

“North Korea is out of control, completing a ballistic missile launch and several successful nuclear tests, firing a rocket over Japan, and sentencing numerous Americans to prison in hard labor camps,” said Senator Tillis. “The Obama Administration has underestimated the brutality and belligerence of this tyrannical regime, and Congress is now taking necessary action by imposing heavy sanctions that will help halt the regime’s acquisition of weapons and punish North Korean cyber criminals.”
