WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) has joined a bipartisan group of Senators to designate the week of January 24-30, 2016 as “National School Choice Week” and recognize that a diversity of choices in K-12 education helps meet the individual needs and strengths of children.
“Access to a quality education unfortunately remains one of the biggest roadblocks to ensuring that every child in the nation has a shot at realizing their American Dream,” said Senator Tillis. “School choice is helping to break that barrier by allowing families across the nation to make decisions that work best for their children. I’m proud to support choice initiatives such as North Carolina’s opportunity scholarship program, and I will continue to advocate for bold and innovative solutions that help students receive the best education possible.”
