Today we remember the thousands of innocent lives that perished on September 11, 2001, and pray for the family members and friends who continue to bear the pain of their loss. The horrific tragedy was perpetrated by terrorists who sought to break our nation’s spirit and destroy the freedoms we cherish. Little did they know, their actions would instead shine a light on the courage and heroism of the American people, as well as the resilience of the American way of life. Fourteen years later, we still stand united as one to honor the memories of those we lost and to support the brave men and women who risk their lives every day to keep our nation safe.
