WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) spoke on the Senate floor to discuss the Obama Administration’s nuclear agreement with Iran and why, despite President Obama’s assurances, the deal will be bad for the American people and will pave the way for Iran to become a nuclear power in the near future.
Senator Tillis reiterated that the President is more focused on his legacy than what is best for the American people, as confirmed by the multiple concessions made by the United States. With the vote on the Iran deal looming, the Senator called on Congress to closely examine why the United States would enter into an agreement with Iran when the regime can continue to fund their global terror network and inch closer toward a nuclear bomb.
“Iran is the chief sponsor of global terrorism and they have never stepped back from their desire to obliterate the United States and one of our closest allies Israel, even after an agreement was reached. The old American alliances are collapsing, and the only answer the Administration seems to have is a clear path to Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon,” Senator Tillis said.
