WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, after the U.S. Senate passed the Every Child Achieves Act (ECAA) 81-17, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) released the following statement:
“Today’s passage of the bipartisan Every Child Achieves Act (ECAA) sends a clear message that it’s time to return our classrooms to those who know our students best – our teachers, local school boards, and parents. Long overdue, this legislation scales back No Child Left Behind and restores educational responsibility and accountability to the states, ridding curriculum of the hands of Washington bureaucrats. The ECAA is a step in the right direction for our children in North Carolina and across the country, and is yet another example of Republicans and Democrats working together to find common ground and deliver results for the American people.”
