WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), visited Gaston County, North Carolina, where he spoke to military servicemembers, veterans and their families during a Memorial Day service, thanking them for their commitment to the United States while honoring our fallen heroes. Following the service, Tillis released the following statement:
“Our military servicemembers wake up each morning ready to defend our freedoms at all costs. We will never be able to repay the debt of gratitude we owe to the courageous men and women who make the ultimate sacrifice. We must do everything we can to fulfill our moral responsibility to help care for the families of our fallen heroes, who bear the pain of living each day without their loved ones. North Carolina is a state blessed with a storied military tradition, and the greatest honor I have had as Senator is meeting with our brave servicemembers and veterans and personally thanking them for their incredible devotion and love for our country.”
